Reasons to Advertise
Radio is immediate and personal, reaching people wherever they are—on the road, at home, on their phones or online. It’s cost-effective, highly frequent, and far more persistent than print. More than that, it’s emotive; it speaks directly to the listener, sparking imagination and allowing them to create their own vivid pictures in their mind.
It’s YOUR local Community
WRFM cares about the community of Oxfordshire, The Cotswolds and beyond because it’s our community, all our presenters live here, our shows are made here, and we have a strong track record helping the local area with events, campaigns and supporting local businesses through advertising and our business directory listing, the Marketplace.

How to get an On-Air Commercial
How much does it cost? – Compared to print, radio delivers far greater value for money. Our commercials air at least 24 times a week, and we often create shorter versions to run at different times, helping keep your brand front of mind.
You’ll also feature on our website, with optional social media promotion to reach our strong online following. Production is included for our 9 and 12 month packages, and if you’re after something bespoke, we’re always happy to chat and tailor it to you.
- 3 months – £450 - £600 (min. 24 plays a week)
- 9 months – £750 - £900 (min. 24 plays a week)
- 12 months – £1000 - £1500 (min. 24 plays + social media promotion)

Radio Commercial Script and Production Tips
Keep your radio script simple and focused on one clear message—don’t overload the listener.
Mention your product or service at the start or end of the ad (ideally both, but if you have to choose, go with the end—it’s what people are most likely to remember). Make sure you include a contact method at least once, and repeat it two or three times if time allows.
We work with a professional production company and experienced voice-over artists who create ads for radio and TV every day, so you’re in safe hands—trust their guidance.
Most ads run between 25 and 40 seconds; any longer and you risk losing attention.
Bottom line: one radio commercial, one clear message. Keep it simple.
