How to get an On-Air Commercial

How much does it cost? – Compared to print media, not that much, radio gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Our commercials get a minimum of 24 plays a week and we usually extend that by making shorter versions to run at different times to keep the listeners mindful that you are out there. Plus we pop you on our website and have social media options as we have a lot of followers. We won’t charge you extra for production. If you want something bespoke just chat to us.

• 3 months – £350 - £500 (min. 24 plays a week)
• 9 months – £600 - £750 (min. 24 plays a week)
• 12 months – £900 - £1500 (min. 24 plays + social media promotion)

Radio Commercial Script and Production Tips

• Ideally, the script for your radio commercial should be simple and include one primary message. Don’t confuse the listener with too many messages.
• Place the product or service you are advertising at the start or finish of the ad (both if possible but if you have to choose, go for the end – it’s the last thing a listener will hear and therefore remember). Remember to give a contact method at least once (and repeat it 2 or 3 times if time will allow).
• We have found “dry” commercials with no music or an instrumental backing track work best, you do not want to distract the listener from the message.
• We use a professional production company with voice-over artists who make commercials for radio and TV all the time, so be led by them, they know what they’re doing.
• Most commercials are around 25 to 40 seconds max, after that people get bored.
• Finally, remember: one radio commercial, one radio message. Keep it simple!
